Specialising in majority LBOs targeting mid-sized companies, CIC LBO Partners manages funds opened to third-party investors

With about 60 successful LBO operations in the targeted sector, the management team has developed specific knowledge in distribution and services.

Specialist in LBOs as the majority or lead investor

CIC LBO Partners is the managing company of CIC LBO Fund, the first LBO fund sponsored by the Crédit-Mutuel - CIC group, opened to institutional investors, funds of funds, HNWI (High Net Worth Individual) and family offices.

CIC LBO Partners provides appropriate funding solutions for various types of contexts:

  • liquidity shortages and succession issues for family-owned or private shareholders,
  • partial asset disposals of non core businesses and assets
  • total or partial delisting of companies that are undervalued or have a low level of liquidity.

It organises company buyouts via leveraged financial structures in close partnership with the existing management team (MBO, OBO), outside managers (MBI) or mixed buy-in, buy-out solutions (BIMBO). CIC LBO Fund participates as the core, majority or lead investor.

A team dedicated to value-creating projects

CIC LBO Partners gives priority to mid-sized LBOs with the following characteristics:

  • enterprise value of between €20m and €150m,
  • sales of between €15m and €300m,
  • a generalist sector approach with a special focus on distribution as well as BtoB and BtoC services,
  • unit investment amounts ranging between €5m and €30m.

In this manner, CIC LBO Partners helps support and extend:

  • the sustainability, independence and development of companies, through financial engineering specifically adapted to investment constraints and organic growth,
  • value creation and the reinforcement of strategic positions, notably by helping companies become the centre of consolidation movements through acquisitions,
  • the motivation of management teams devoted to projects, by keeping pace with their development via significant equity investments.

Responsible for the investment policy and management of its funds, the CIC LBO Partners team is totally independent when it comes to decision-making. A selective approach is used to ensure total involvement and availability to better serve our corporate partners.
